Children's camp is a great option for relaxing during the summer holidays.
By the time your child bursts into the house shouting: “Hurrah! Vacation!" It would be nice to decide what your child will do in the summer. Therefore, if you want to send him to a children's camp, then think about a ticket in advance and choose a camp to his liking.
IS A CHILDREN'S CAMP NEEDED?
Psychologists believe that if a child is 8-10 years old, he is he althy in body and soul, then he simply needs to rest with his peers separately from his parents. Your child is growing up, he needs to "get rid of the umbilical cord", and kids camp in this case is a great inoculation of independence. For the first time, you can send the child to the camp with friends - so it will be easier for him to adapt to an unfamiliar environment. Of course, at first he will have to experience some stress. After all, before he never got into a world where there is no mother who is always ready to make a decision for him and help, who always loves him no matter what. But the educator or counselor is a stranger, whose respect and love still needs to be earned. Not to mention a dozen completely unfamiliar peers who will become buddies or even friends. In other words, the children's camp is a real school of life and growing up. Prepare for the fact that you literally won't recognize your child when he returns. Of course, in a good way.
HOW TO CHOOSE A CHILDREN'S CAMP?
The main rule: the camp should be chosen not only according to the principle - "where the weather is good and where the food is delicious", it is much more important that the children are busy all the time and can properly show their activity. If you have a choice: for the same money, send your child to a regular camp (4-5 meals a day, a sports ground works during the day, in the evenings - a disco and slot machines) for 2 shifts of 24 days or to a thematic camp, where the child’s time is will be scheduled by the minute and he will always be busy with something interesting, but only for 2 weeks, remember the worst enemy called "boredom". Even if the child will have to spend the rest of the summer just in the country, when choosing a camp it is better to focus not on the number of days, but on their quality. If at the very beginning of summer you send him to an active recreation camp, then for the rest of the time he will live under the impression of exciting camp activities, trying to transfer them to his ordinary life. Wonderful camps are those where the whole shift is devoted to some thematic psychological game. For example, the game of state. At the beginning of the shift, a president, a parliament are elected, television, a post office, etc. are created. All children find their place in life: someone becomes a journalist, someone an artist, someone a politician or a businessman. You can open your own business, get married and even appoint yourself … children. There are also other games: a detective game, a city where each squad represents a street, a school of foreign languages, space aliens … There are also unusual projects like Robinsonade, where children live on an island in tents and, under the supervision of adults, study the art of human survival in extreme conditions. Well, since all children are different, it would also be useful here to apply an individual approach and choose a camp of the appropriate theme for your child.
“I BECAME A UK CITIZEN AND NOW I SIT IN PARLIAMENT EVERY MORNING…”
These are lines from a letter from a boy who has just arrived at the English club camp and has not yet had time to get used to the fact that now he will be addressed as "Mr" or "Lord", and then add not his usual name, and English - the one he chose for himself at the beginning of the camp shift, or, as it is commonly called here, sessions. Each session is carefully thought out, has its own focus in accordance with the chosen topic. The schedule for each day is tightly scheduled, English classes are intertwined with games, competitions and entertainment. The day in the club begins with the parliament, where all the cities (in each session the members of the club are divided into cities; each city has its own flag, coat of arms, laws and many other differences invented by its inhabitants) of the "English Club" discuss controversial issues and pass verdicts by voting by them. After the Parliament follows the English Hour - English in a playful way, a bit of history, folklore and traditions of old England. After dinner, everyone is invited to interest clubs, of which there are a lot: etiquette, non-verbal vocabulary, communication psychology, theater, rock climbing, weaving “baubles”, an English song club, a bluff club, sign language, etc. Well, in the evening everyone waiting for a special holiday. It can be a fashion show, Halloween, St. Valentine, KVN, Hollywood show and much more. They prepare for the holiday from dinner - they invent costumes, hairstyles, contests. Before going to bed, after a holiday or a disco, the "cities" gather to the "candle". In a close circle there is a conversation about what interests you, what you would like. At this time, there are no taboo topics and unimportant questions - this is the time for a heart-to-heart talk.
The English club camp is an amazing idea, a unique program for children from 8 to 16 years old, and most importantly: in order to take part in it, it is not at all necessary to know English, just the desire to get to know it. Groups for classes are formed by age and level of knowledge of the language - so that it is easy for everyone. And the bases of the children's camp are located both in the suburbs and on the Black Sea coast!
Game, game and more game! If the “English Club” plays the English state, then this year the “Teleportation”, “Starship Troopers” and “Ecological Hunt” are organized in the sanatorium, he alth and educational center “Vyatichi”. Summer is divided into 4 shifts, and each has its own carefully designed theme. In the first shift (“Academy of Adventures”), children pass exciting game tests every day. They not only learn safe life skills (LS in action!), but also try on various difficult everyday situations, play psychological aikido, and train in decision-making. The second shift ("Starship Troopers") is entirely devoted to space: there is "landing" on unfamiliar planets, and the study of new civilizations, and meeting with space pirates, and even decoding the "black box"! In the third shift (“Ecological hunting”), games and conversations will be devoted not only to ecology and the purity of nature, but also to the ecology of the human soul. The children will try to teach to take care of everything that nature has given us - to the world around us and to ourselves. The name of the fourth shift (“Secrets of free time”) speaks for itself. This is a real practice of good mood. Here, children will receive many answers to the question "What to do when there is nothing to do?", take acting classes, and develop their creative abilities.
FOR THOSE WHO LIKE IT MORE EXTREME
There are dreams in the world that almost every child dreams of coming true: ride a horse, drive a car, scuba dive to the seabed, climb rocks, go down into a real mountain cave … The list could be continued. And it was on him that the creators of the project of the children's camp in the Crimea "Quarry" were guided. Given the success and growing popularity of this unusual children's camp for several years, they did not fail!
You send your child to the Crimea for 21 days, and during this time he manages to visit not one, but three camps located in the most picturesque places of the Southern coast of Crimea. The weekly stay program in each camp includes either horseback riding or driving a car, orienteering, mountain tourism and speleotourism techniques, radio sports, swimming, shooting, the basics of scuba diving, as well as visiting museums in Y alta (Livadia and Vorontsov Palaces etc.), excursions to local attractions. Already at the end of the first week, the children will have a real journey - an eight-kilometer hike along the mountainous Botkin trail to one of the largest Crimean waterfalls - Uchan-su. If in the first camp ("Banistro") children live in capital cottages, then in the second ("Tarpan") - in specially equipped tents. But what romance and beauty all around! And the third camp, "Tea House", is the realm of magnificent beech forests, sheer cliffs, grottoes and waterfalls. And again, the children are waiting for exciting trips - with songs by the evening fire: to the Orliny Zalet rock, to the Grand Canyon of Crimea to the Bath of Youth, descent into a real wild cave. You ask: will there be a sea? There will be, of course, in sufficient quantities - but what is boring lying on the beach compared to real adventures? By the way, a trip to the Quarry does not require any special sports and physical preparation. And the races are carried out all summer - on Wednesdays and Sundays.
IF A CHILD REQUESTS TO BE PICKED UP FROM CAMP
Your child's trip to camp is not just a few weeks of freedom from him, but a serious educational event. Therefore, it is our sacred duty to observe his stay there: is everything in order, is he satisfied with his new life? Breaking away from the parents (especially for the first time), the child should not experience negative emotions. However, a situation may arise when the child is not ready for such a test. His complaints should be taken seriously, and if for some reason your son or daughter did not like the camp, it is better to take him (her) home. Either he has not yet grown morally to a "free" life, or you should be wary and talk to a psychologist. This, of course, provided that you didn’t accidentally “run into” a bad and incredibly boring camp, where no one takes care of the children and they are left to their own devices. A similar situation is almost unbelievable if you choose a camp with a “dense” program: there the child will not have time to remember mommy’s pancakes and call on the phone with requests like: “Get me out of here, it’s boring here …” or “Come on a weekend, otherwise it’s a roof will go…”.
TEACH HIM TO REST
Some parents don't send their children to the camp for reasons of principle: they don't know what they get there, they contact whoever they know, the food is probably terrible, discipline and collectivism - you won't understand whether it's the army or a prison. In general, it is better to let him get bored away from sin in the country. The air is fresh there too. Other parents, on the contrary, send - and how! On a trade union voucher at a discount, for all three shifts, so that it does not get in the way. The child is fed, looked after, the doctors are watching him - what else do you need? But parents can work quietly and relax. These two seemingly opposite positions actually have a common flaw. They do not say a word about what the child will do - whether in the country, in the camp … Having a good rest is a great art that can and should be learned. If your child goes to an interesting camp, we can consider that he is lucky: he will not receive the experience of long and tiring idleness, which usually reigns in resorts, but invaluable outdoor activities lessons. But suppose, for some reason, you still cannot send your child to a camp with a rich cultural program. Then the care of his camp leisure and vivid impressions falls on your shoulders. No, this does not mean that you need to immediately quit your job and go to the camp as a counselor. But the child can receive appropriate instruction from you on how to spend your free time in a boring camp in an interesting way. And then he will have a chance to become the organizer of unforgettable leisure. Teach him intellectual games (“Crocodile”, “Mafia”, “MPS”), give him the idea to put on a small “home” performance, organize a fashion show or a carnival. Surely the counselors will support such initiatives, provided that the children promise to do everything themselves. By the way, boredom is a frequent guest not only in an ordinary (inexpensive) camp, but also in "dollar" camps abroad. So the basics of entertainment science will also come in handy for those who want to definitely go to warm countries like Turkey, Bulgaria or Egypt. Of course, interesting programs are also organized there, but just in case, prepare your child for the fact that he will have to have fun to the best of his ability. At worst, provide the child with fascinating literature so that it is not so tedious to lie under an umbrella on the beach.
Memo to the young egoist
A child going to camp for the first time needs some psychological preparation. Talk to your child about something that may not have been emphasized before - how to live next to other (strangers!) People, what it means to be a pleasant person to communicate with. These rules are simple, but it would be useful to remind your child before leaving.
1 Always treat people the way you want to be treated, consider the feelings of others.
2 Try to be neat and clean, don't make a mess in the common room.
3 Watch how you build a conversation: do not interrupt, do not talk too much about yourself, your loved one, do not develop topics that are unpleasant for your interlocutor.
4 Learn to civilize conflict - do not swear, do not insult others, try to firmly, but at the same time politely and correctly express and defend your point of view.
P.S.Summer is on the nose, a variety of children's he alth resorts are waiting for your children, and you, now armed with our instructions, may still have time to make your choice in favor of one of the projects presented by us.
