Gas grills

Their main difference is the absence of an open fire, it is enough to connect the grill to a gas source, and the gas burners heat up the baking sheet on which the food is cooked. Among gas grills there are so-called grills on lava - a gas burner red-hot pieces of lava, and due to their porous structure they serve as a source of intense infrared radiation. At the end of cooking, you can throw a little sawdust for smell. Some models combine both types, i.e. on one half of the grill you can cook on lava stone, and on the other - on a baking sheet. The advantage of gas grills is ease of use and fast heating.

Electric grills

Charcoal grills

This category includes both ordinary and familiar barbecues, as well as "more advanced" models - round, oval, rectangular with an additional table and shelves. Larger models usually have a pair of wheels with which they can be easily moved from place to place. The grill consists of a charcoal container and a grate on top, which in most models can be adjusted in height, which allows you to control the cooking process.

Wood grills

They are made of thicker metal or cast iron that can withstand high combustion temperatures. There are different sizes and designs. Of course, gas and electric grills do not require fuss with coal and wood, the cooking process itself is cleaner and faster. However, making a fire, the smell of burning firewood, the appearance of coals and the ability to stir them up are the most pleasant things in the process of cooking kebabs. By the way, the starting price for gas and electric grills is higher than for wood and charcoal models.

Smokehouse

This is a variant of the charcoal and wood grill with a tight-fitting lid. The grill smokehouse must have two ventilation holes: on the lid and on the bottom of the boiler, with which you can adjust the temperature. These barbecue grills can be used as a regular grill - the coals are directly under the food, you can also fry meat using a side fire - the coals are on the edges of the barbecue, and the food in the center, the lid must be closed (with this method, the food is fried more slowly and evenly). When smoking, the coals are located at the edges, and a baking sheet with hot water is placed between the coals and the product. On coals, after they burn out, sawdust or wood chips are added to give the dish a smoky flavor.

Stationary concrete BBQ grills

This is a serious and rather impressive structure - it is installed on a stable platform made of concrete or brick, the distance from the house and trees should be at least five to six meters. However, concrete barbecues are easy to use, low maintenance, and large, so you can barbecue for a large group of guests.
