Green tea is not for everyone

German scientists have questioned the healing properties of green tea. According to them, in some cases, the drink can do more harm than good.

Everyone knows that green tea speeds up metabolism, removes fat from the body and protects against cancer. But German scientists questioned all of the listed healing properties of the popular drink. In their opinion, green tea, on the contrary, can increase the likelihood of developing bladder cancer. It can also harm people suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, strong green tea can irritate the stomach lining, causing exacerbations of diseases.

However, German researchers still recognize some positive properties of green tea. So, they believe that it can slightly reduce the risk of liver, lung, pancreas, breast and prostate cancers.

It is worth noting that not every tea contains beneficial properties. The most useful are large-leaved varieties, hand-picked, neatly rolled and containing only the ovary and the two upper leaves of the tea bush. In finely chopped, as well as in single-packed tea bags, useful properties are lost, since finely crushed tea leaves interact faster and more actively with the environment.
