After 45, a person begins to rapidly lose good physical shape, as scientists have proven. But this process can be significantly slowed down.
The body is sharply reduced
This requires giving up bad habits like smoking and exercising more often. The October issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine published an article in which the authors examined 3,429 men and 16,889 women aged 20 to 96 who underwent two to 33 medical examinations between 1974 and 2006.
It turned out that the human body begins to rapidly lose ground after 45. If you build a graph illustrating the level of our physical form, then after the mark of 45 you can see a sharp line going down. However, sedentary lifestyles, overeating and bad habits contribute a lot to this fall.
But quitting smoking and exercising regularly can literally make you look younger, scientists have found. “If you are overweight and smoke, your aerobic capacity will be significantly inferior to those of your peers who do not smoke and play sports,” said study author Andrew Jackson, a professor at the University of Houston. - And it makes sense. If we treat our body incorrectly, then it breaks down very quickly when the natural reserves of strength caused by youth end. And this applies to both men and women, although men regress much faster.”
Jackson notes that the physical and visual signs of old age in people with excess weight and bad habits can appear already after 50-60 years. At the same time, active people can meet old age after 70, and after 80, and even into their 90s!
