It turned out that the most common cause of conflict between children and parents is the reproach that children "treat their home like a hotel." And spouses most often conflict because they take each other and their relationship for granted. Meanwhile, as you know, a good marriage must be constantly worked on.
In an ordinary family, quarrels and conflicts flare up up to three times a day. On average, they last up to five minutes. 91 hours a year are spent arguing. Moreover, the main initiator of disputes, as well as the person who speaks (or screams) the longest are mothers.
"It was exciting to find that mothers still seem to play a central role in the family," said study author Mark De Netto. “But these results prove that fathers are getting more involved too.”
Researchers have found that in family disputes, daughters are more likely to slam the door loudly as an argument, and fathers simply go somewhere far away to “cool off”. Television is a major source of controversy. Moms prefer to watch soap operas, dads prefer sports or documentaries, and kids want to see movies or reality shows.
