Family New Year

Tatiana Ogorodnikova - writer, candidate of psychological sciences, founder of the Probrak Family Counseling Center, author of the Family Psychologist program on My Family radio

The past decade has been about soul-searching. The only value that survived this meat grinder, even if it was a little frayed and changed, is the family. But, as you know, for one beaten they give two unbeaten. Try to object. After all, you had the opportunity to make sure that money both comes and goes, business floats depending on the refinancing rate, land loses its value with inflation, huge construction projects are frozen like farm chickens … And only one thing remains unchanged: you still love and wait at home. You are accepted as you are, with good or bad moods, with problems and joys, with PMS and a midlife crisis. Maybe that's why, having accelerated after the next New Year and set up a bunch of plans, I want to slow down before the next one - and spend at least one night with my family near the fireplace in the light of carefree Christmas tree lights and stupid chirping music from garlands … Forget about he althy eating at least for the New Year's holiday and green salads, about arrogant bosses, about huge stupid stores, about traffic jams, repairs, chronic diseases, about mother-in-law, mother-in-law, debts, unfinished, overweight…

Yes, I want to think about nothing, staring into the fire and feeling my cheeks gradually warm up from the heat and champagne. Do you think it's easy not to think about anything? Not at all. For me personally, this is one of the most difficult tasks in life. I noticed that I can be in such nirvana only once a year - on New Year's Eve. Do you know why? Because around me are those for whom I am ready to give my life, who give this life to me, whom I fully trust and for whom I am responsible. Hope they feel the same. They are family.

I would like New Year's Eve to be a night of revelation for everyone. I do not mean confessions of bad deeds, thoughts or hidden incomes. New Year's revelation is a magical aura of love and trust, care, peace and confidence in the future. Probably, these are family values, and, whatever one may say, absolutely everyone needs them. Maybe that's why the New Year is called a family holiday. So accepted! I would like to believe that good traditions will not give up their positions under the onslaught of progress and the good New Year holiday will constantly remind us of them.
