41-year-old English new mother thanks 30 donors who saved her life
Surgeons fought for the life of a woman and her child for nearly seven hours, transfusing Martin with 30 units of blood. The baby, who survived the seizure, was urgently transported to another hospital. The mother has not seen her child for five days.
Now a whole month has passed since those dramatic events. Siobhain and her son Theo are at home preparing for Christmas. “I can thank my family and friends for their support, love and prayers that they offered during a difficult time for me,” says Martin. - I can thank the medical staff who have shown the highest skill and dedication to their duty. The doctors and nurses saved me. But I can't personally thank the 30 people who gave me their blood!"
Siobhain does not know the names of the donors who donated a part of themselves to her in the shortest possible time. “They saved my life, allowed me to become a mother, remain a daughter, sister, niece and friend,” continues the happy Siobhain. - And next June I will also become the wife of my beloved man Chris, who never gave up and always supported us. I will never forget you, my dear saviors, you have become a real miracle for me.”
British Donor Association representatives emphasize that the case of Siobhain Martin should be promoted so that people understand how important it is to donate blood and save lives.
