Art director of Shiseido on what every woman should have in her makeup bag

Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson - the list of his star clients is endless. World-famous makeup artist and art director of Shiseido Dick Page presented the RichRocks makeup collection at TSUM in November and shared beauty secrets with “DO”
Question: Dick, tell us about the main trends for next year.
Answer: Honestly, I don't really believe in trends. I work with many designers and for each I create my own unique image. For the Michael Kors show, I did an intense bow, for Marc Jacobs - a natural one, and for Narciso Rodriguez, a "dirty" look. A trend is more of an adaptation to your personal style. Makeup is like clothes - you don't completely update your wardrobe every season, but just add a couple of things that reflect the trends.
There are a huge number of fashion shows going on now, we have a lot of information, which means we have plenty to choose from and not be attached to one thing.
Q: What should be in every woman's makeup bag?
A: Day cream with SPF, a good moisturizer and a few simple color cosmetics - mascara, eyebrow pencil and lipstick. If you're going to a party or a business meeting after work, apply some lipstick on your lips - it will instantly refresh your look.
Q: What do you recommend for older women?
A: Love yourself and do your makeup the way you like. I don't see the difference between makeup for a young girl and an old lady. If you love shimmery eyeshadow, why not? I've worked with Vivienne Westwood and I can tell you that shimmery powder, red eye shadow and bright lips are totally natural for her.
Q: If a woman wants to change something in herself, where should she start?
A: First, change one detail (either shadow or lipstick) and see how the image changes. Don't forget accessories - they can completely transform your face.
B: Each item in your RichRocks collection is associated with a particular mineral. Why minerals and not gems?
A: At first I thought about precious metals and stones, but in the process I realized that rough stones and crystals, due to their natural beauty, are strikingly different from polished stones - they have an amazing color and radiance.
Q: You have worked with a lot of celebrities, what do you think they have in common?
A: Almost all public people (musicians, actresses, TV presenters) are very confident people.
Q: Who is your favorite model?
A: Iman, Raquel… There are a lot of them. I love smart and strong women.
Q: You worked a lot in Japan, what inspired you from this country?
A: With their incredible colors, culture. In fact, sometimes everyday things inspire - sometimes you can find something amazing in an ordinary supermarket.
