Are parents involved in the success of their children, or is it the children who achieve success contrary to their parents' ideas of well-being?
Are parents involved in the success of their children, or is it the children who achieve success contrary to their parents' ideas of well-being? In the relationship of the athlete, the actress of the series "Univer" on "TNT" and the future singer Maria Kozhevnikova with her mother Margarita, a complete idyll reigns. They perfectly understand each other. Even despite the absolute opposite of the characters
Is it difficult for me to be the mother of Masha Kozhevnikova? Absolutely not. It's a pleasure for me. When I get home, I immediately understand that Masha has arrived, because there is not a single place that would remain untouched by her presence. When I was little, I tried to retrain her, but at some point I realized that it was useless. Now I help her by saving time for something else, more important - sleep or work. To each his own. Perhaps this is how life should be. She should enjoy what she does best, and I - from what I do better! This year I quit my job and now I can devote my time to my family and enjoy the little things that make up our lives. For example, if Masha arrived from filming at three in the morning, I can calmly chat with her until the morning or sit at the computer, looking at some photos, and then sleep until three in the afternoon. Today I am happy with what I have.
I was a very mobile child since childhood, I liked to attract attention to myself, I danced, I thought up something all the time. At the age of five, my mother sent me to a modeling school, where I could realize all this. One day a funny thing happened to me. Among the young contestants was a girl Vasilisa with very long hair. I thought that if my name was also Vasilisa, my hair would become just as beautiful. I even persuaded my mother to change my name! Once, at the show, Vasilisa was given a pink dress, and I was given a green one. Just imagine: a girl - a green dress! I could not survive this, besides, I was used to achieving goals. I don’t remember how I lured Vasilisa into the toilet and took off her dress, I only remember that I went to the show in pink, and then my mother was called somewhere to sort out this trick.
As soon as Masha got a taste of how her modeling career ended: we went abroad when hockey players were allowed to work under a contract abroad (Masha's father is two-time Olympic hockey champion Alexander Kozhevnikov - "DO"). So we ended up in Sweden, then in Switzerland, England. My friend was Ira Devina, the world champion in rhythmic gymnastics, and I decided that my daughter would also be a great gymnast. In Switzerland, every day I took her to another city for training - two hours there and the same back. For a long time, Masha did not succeed with the element with maces, and we worked it out at home. In Switzerland, at seven o'clock in the evening, there is already silence everywhere, and we are throwing maces. The neighbors called the police. We did not stop training, but I began to lay ten blankets on the floor so as not to make noise.
Now I understand that it was some kind of stupid obsession on my part. At the age of 15, when Masha completed the master of sports, I gave up. Then the Spice girls filled everything around, and she had already begun to sing, declaring to everyone that she would be a singer. We bought her the first karaoke microphone. It turned out that she has a hearing and a voice. Then she began to travel to studios, record cassettes, participate in competitions.
I really always wanted to sing. When I was in high school, I heard an ad on TV about recruiting for a youth group. There was a huge casting - about 10-20 thousand girls throughout Russia. Everyone asked me why I was going there, because among the 20 thousand applicants there will certainly be those who can sing professionally. But for some reason I have always been confident in myself and knew that if you really sincerely want something, sooner or later you will get it. When the producer pointed his finger at me, I came to the audition and sang. Of course, it was complete amateur performance, but he liked my timbre, and he believed in me.
Unfortunately, I didn't stay in show business very long. I understood that before showing myself to the viewer, you need to learn how to do it professionally so as not to dishonor yourself and your parents. That's when I entered GITIS, in the studio of Valery Garkalin. And again, as in gymnastics, I found myself among gifted people: students came to the course from music schools, already worked in theaters, and each of them already represented something. And again I had to wage an unequal struggle. Well, tell me, how can I write a solfeggio dictation if I don’t know a single note?! It was hard, but I learned to cope.
When my daughter announced in March that she would enter GITIS, we were very surprised. It was already difficult to enter a good university then, especially since the selection rounds are in full swing in the theater schools in the spring. But she somehow arranged everything herself. Unlike me, Masha has always been able to open doors without feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed.
She was somehow able to agree to apply, go through all the tours and … be late for the essay! Just messed up the day. It was the collapse of everything. But she managed to fix that too.
Masha is a person with a very strong character. Apparently, she was given some kind of power from above, which allows her to achieve what she wants. It's just given to her, that's all.
Today, when I ask Masha how the casting or audition went, she always answers “good”. The scariest thing you can hear from her is "normal". She is so positive by nature that I am sure that whatever she undertakes, she will succeed. And this is absolutely natural for her: she really believes that everything always turns out the way it should. In this we are very different. I doubt everything, I'm cautious. And Masha manages to realize herself - no matter in what capacity (athletes, singers or actresses), because she is a deeply positive and self-confident person.
