Experts from Duke University Medical Center studied 144 patients suffering from overweight and hypertension. For four months, 46 people followed a specially formulated anti-hypertension diet, 49 combined diet and exercise, and 49 followed a regular diet.
After four months of observation, the doctors determined that in the first group the average decrease in blood pressure was 11.2/7.5, in the second group 16.1/9.9, and in the third only 3.4/3, 8. So it turned out that diet combined with exercise is ideal for dealing with high blood pressure.
But in addition, in the second group, the he alth of the entire cardiovascular system as a whole, including the functioning of blood vessels, was the best. The people themselves really felt the improvement. More than 90% of the participants in the second group said they would continue to combine the special diet with exercise after the completion of the study.
