Scientists have found that fried potatoes are an excellent antidepressant
For many of us, eating fried potatoes can boost our mood. This product adds vivacity and strengthens the spirit, it makes life more fun. What is it really about?
British psychologist Mark Green conducted an interesting study. He brought men and women together to show them a five-minute documentary about the aftermath of the nuclear attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. When the mood of the audience dropped to zero, Dr. Green divided the study participants into two groups.
One was given various entertainment magazines to cheer her up, and the other was fed fried potatoes. In the first group, people were not able to fully recover from what they saw in an hour, but in the other group, the mood returned to normal in 20 minutes.
Dr. Green believes there are two reasons for this effect of fried potatoes. Firstly, the carbohydrates contained in the product can cause an increase in mood. And secondly, the very smell and taste of potatoes at the subconscious level evokes in us pleasant memories of a cheerful and carefree childhood, when the trees were big, the parents were young, and life seemed endless.
However, nutritionists and doctors do not recommend getting too carried away with fried potatoes if you do not want to increase blood cholesterol levels and gain extra pounds. Then it will definitely not be fun.
