More than a quarter of all British women over 35 do not have sex at all
Disturbing statistics was obtained in the course of a sociological survey conducted in the UK. 28% of the fair sex abstain from any sexual activity. In Scotland, this figure is even more impressive - there 38% of women are celibate.
Sex expert Paula Hall says the data is yet another illustration of the pressure women face today when it comes to sex. But in many cases, ladies exaggerate their suffering.
Pola Hall says numerous films, songs and media stories, as well as celebrity stories, teach women that frequent sex is the norm. But everyday reality is different. “It leads to exaggerated expectations when a woman thinks that everyone else is having sex three or four times a week, and she is not. Therefore, her behavior is abnormal, explains Pola. - As a result, when sociologists ask a woman about how often she has sex, the lady says never. Meanwhile, she still leads an intimate life, although not as intense.”
The same survey found that 42% of women aged 35 to 64 had sought medical help for depression or at least thought about it.
