46 tablespoons of sugar per day

Every day, an adult consumes 30-40 tablespoons of sugar, as scientists have established

Someone will find this figure surprising. How is it, because I put only one spoonful in tea? But scientists from the American Amory School of Medicine counted not only the sugar that we consume explicitly, but also the one found in numerous foods and drinks. It turned out that there is an abundance of it, but few people know about it.

Experts translated the “sweet death” contained there into a measurement that is understandable to us at the rate of 4 grams of sugar per teaspoon. And it turned out that:

  • in a 0.33 liter fanta jar 7 tablespoons of sugar
  • in a 0.5 liter cola bottle all 9
  • your favorite muffin contains 5.85 tablespoons of sugar
  • a standard breakfast of 50 grams of cereal, milk and a cup of tea costs our body 6.6 tablespoons of sugar.

Researchers divided 6,000 people into five groups based on the amount of sugar they ingested. It turned out that representatives of the fifth group consume 46 (!) Spoons a day, but they have no idea about it.

Meanwhile, the maximum recommended dose is 23 spoons per day. Anything higher leads to an increase in the level of cholesterol in the blood, the risk of diseases of the cardiovascular system, and the subcutaneous fat on the abdomen and sides, so hated by all of us, which is sometimes so difficult to get rid of.

Experts strongly recommend lowering your daily sugar intake. And always be interested in exactly how many grams of this substance is contained in a particular product.
