From April 20 to April 21, the night of libraries will be held in Russia for the first time.

Following the “Night at the Museum” action, which frightened the workers of these temples of culture with crowds of visitors who wanted to enjoy art at an inopportune time, a new fashionable cultural entertainment has come to us - a night in the library. All regions of Russia participate in the "Biblionoch", which will be held from 20 to 21 April. In Moscow, 28 libraries have joined the campaign, including two federal ones - children's and historical, as well as some estate museums that have library collections.
On this day, the reading rooms of many of them will be open until one in the morning, and not only regular employees will be waiting for visitors. Many libraries have prepared special programs: lectures, workshops, meetings with writers, movie screenings.
In Moscow and Tula, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod, Petrozavodsk and Perm, Tver and Volgograd, and in almost all Russian cities, hundreds of libraries, museums, galleries, cultural centers and bookstores will open their doors this night for visitors and will present cultural programs with the participation of writers, musicians, artists, artists on their sites and streets of cities; exhibitions and special projects.
Modern urban art spaces have also joined the action. For example, in Moscow, the Flakon design factory will turn into a big book club for 2 days. There will be a book fair and a concert, exhibitions and presentations, lectures and meetings with authors, contests and drawings, master classes and children's performances.
For the duration of the event, the entire Flacon will turn into a large book club - in the shops and showrooms of the Flacon design factory there will be racks, shelves, racks and stacks of books in their own format. See details and schedule of events here.
The first annual social and cultural action "BIBLIONIGHT" is a large-scale national networking event in support of the social authority of literature as a historically national project in Russia.
