Omnivore Food Festival (OFF) returns to Moscow on April 23

Omnivor (Latin for "omnivore") is an international festival held since 2005 in Deauville, France, and since 2009 in New York. Today, Omnivore is the main arena for young talented chefs in the world. The festival not only reflects the culinary trends of the present moment, but also anticipates tomorrow's trends, announces new techniques, testifies to the evolution of tastes
In 2011, the first Moscow OFF became a culinary "bomb", the "explosion" of which shook up the gastronomic life of the capital. OFF-2012 is going to repeat this trick and even enhance the effect. Among the foreign participants of the Moscow Festival are the avant-garde of young gastronomy, the most progressive and creative chefs in the world from France, Italy, Latvia, Belgium.
Among the names familiar to the Moscow public at the festival, you can see master classes by Ivan Shishkin (Delicatessen restaurant, Adrian Ketglas (the concept chef of Grand Cru wine restaurants), Ilya Shalev & Alex Zimin (Ragout restaurant), Vladimir Mukhin (restaurant Buloshnaya), Isaac Correa (Black Market, Mont alto, Upside Down Cake Co).
In Moscow the festivalwill open with a series of master classes to be held in Gostiny Dvor from 24 to 26 April. The main goal is to provide a platform for self-expression to young professionals and to acquaint the maximum number of interested lovers and connoisseurs of gastronomic art with their work. Becoming a spectator of master classes is very simple: just buy a guest ticket.
The vast majority of chefs who will show their art at the Festival are very young. But they are citizens of the world who have managed to enslave in different parts of the world in a variety of culinary genres.
From 23 to 29 April, Muscovites will have a unique opportunity to taste the menu from foreign chefs, prepared together with their Moscow colleagues. The Omnivore World Tour Moscow program will be complemented by selected Moscow restaurants presenting their festival sets.
The festival program can be viewed on the festival website.
Young cuisine doesn't have much reverence for Michelin stars and other official rankings. But the representatives of this movement are the creators of not even tomorrow's gastronomic trends, they create menus for the day after tomorrow.
This year, OFF finally established its status as a gastronomic phenomenon on a planetary scale, called the Omnivore World Tour. The Omnivore World Tour will take place in 12 cities around the world: Montreal, Copenhagen, New York, Brussels, Paris, Moscow, Geneva, Istanbul, San Francisco, Shanghai, Sao Paolo and Sydney.
