Melon is good on its own, but you might be surprised to find that melon finds its place in a wide variety of dishes!

1. Chorizo salad
Cut the melon into slices. Mix in a saucepan 1 tbsp. l. honey, 75 ml of balsamic vinegar, put on fire and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the consistency of syrup. Cool.
Fry diced smoked chorizo sausages in a skillet. Drizzle the prepared sauce over the melon slices, sprinkle with the fried sausages and serve with a green salad.
2. Salsa
Dice the flesh of ¼ melon, add ½ finely chopped jalapeno (or seedless green chili), ½ cup cilantro and season with the juice of 1 lime. Serve with fish.
3. Sorbet
Crush the pulp of 1/3 medium-sized melon in a blender, adding 1 tbsp. l. grated zest and juice of ½ lemon, 1 tbsp. l. honey. Pour mixture into a flat container and freeze for 3 hours (stir mixture 2-3 times).
4. Sangria
Dice the pulp of 1 melon, put in a jug. Pour in the wine, add 2 sprigs of chopped mint. Serve over ice.
5. Cold soup
Crush in a blender ½ melon with 1 tbsp. orange juice. Refrigerate and serve with a scoop of ice cream.
Tip:
Melon cubes or balls can be frozen and added to summer smoothies.
