Opera singer Dmitry Hvorostovsky, to the delight of his fans, began performing on stage again. His first public appearance after treatment at the cancer center was at Metropolitan Opera in New York.
Baritone played the role of Count di Luna in the production of the opera Giuseppe Verdi "Troubadour". He was accompanied on stage by his compatriot Anna Netrebko, who debuted as Leonora. And the parts of troubadour Manrico were performed by Yangong Li. According to representatives of Hvorostovsky, he will perform on stage several more times - on September 29 and October 3, and after that he will continue anti-cancer treatment.
Recall that in June, doctors discovered a malignant brain tumor in Hvorostovsky. The famous baritone, on the recommendations of doctors, stayed in one of the cancer centers in London, where he had already completed a course of radiation therapy, which gave positive results. According to the latest reports, Hvorostovsky will return to the UK after his performances to continue the fight against the disease.
