Ashley Wells Jackson's photo project, showing the beauty of motherhood despite stretch marks and scars, has become a hit on the Internet.
Photographer Ashley Wells Jackson became the author of the project "Fourth trimester: celebrating the beauty of motherhood without censorship", which she dedicated to women with signs of childbirth and pregnancy left on their bodies. The woman is raising two children on her own. Ashley gave birth to twins during her second birth. Despite the fact that the doctors had to resort to a caesarean section, one of the babies could not be saved. But on the body of the photographer there was a scar from the operation, which every time reminds her of the loss.
After the incident, Jackson fell into depression, which she was helped to overcome by a photo project dedicated to the problems of the shortcomings of the female figure after childbirth. The girl started shooting moms in underwear with their kids in 2013. The semi-nude photos are designed to show the public the physical changes that make women so complex in today's world. Namely, to prove that neither stretch marks on the skin, nor scars after operations can cross out the joy of motherhood.
The photographer accuses the public that it is customary to compare young mothers with models on the pages of the magazine. And at the same time, no one thinks about how much these pictures are retouched in glossy publications. Two years after the start of the project, Ashley released a photo album, thanks to which everyone can see how happy and beautiful mothers of all ages and shapes are.
