What do he althy women do every day? 4 recipes from readers of Domashniy Ochag

A year ago I offered my husband to buy a new sofa to replace the old one, which had lost its shape and form. “Why do you need a sofa? - asked then my favorite. "You're not sitting on it anyway!"

It's true, I rarely sit still. When I am at home, I either play with the children (they are now 3 and 6 years old), or clean up, or we all go for a walk together. I am a nurse by profession and every day at work I meet people who come to the doctor and complain about their he alth. They suffer from high blood pressure, shortness of breath, pain in the whole body, but most of them smoke, do not limit themselves in alcohol and are definitely not too concerned with thoughts of optimal weight. All this makes me pay more attention to my own he alth, to the well-being of my husband, children, and elderly parents. I think many women could solve their weight problem by simply moving a little more each day. When you get home from work, don't sit on the sofa, play hide-and-seek with your kids, take a walk in the yard, or go to the pool together!

You can spend your whole life in front of the TV and constantly complain that the lack of time or money does not allow you to look the way you would like. But, by and large, it’s not about money at all, but about our own laziness. Do not be lazy to enjoy life, do not miss interesting events - and you will not have to complain to the doctor about feeling unwell!

In how much sleep is necessary for the body, I was convinced by my own bitter example 2 years ago. Then my son was preparing for the exam and entering the university, I studied Russian and English with him, took him to a tutor in algebra and geometry. I had to take time off from work - the boss treated this with understanding, but on one condition: I had to do everything remotely. At about 11 pm, when my son went to bed, I sat down at the computer. For two months I slept 4-5 hours a day. And one evening my husband came home and found me on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood. It turned out that I lost consciousness and hit the edge of the table. I received six stitches and still have a scar on my face as a reminder of my own stupidity.

Few people think that lack of sleep has become a real epidemic these days. Stars and successful women in interviews say that they sleep 5 hours a day and this is enough for them. Don't believe! Of course, if you do not get enough sleep for a couple of weeks, and then go to recuperate at the resort, most likely nothing bad will happen to you. But if for a long time every night your body does not have time to recover and at the same time you work, raise children and do household chores, then the body will simply fail at the most inopportune moment.

After what happened to me, I began to read a lot about the benefits of sleep. And I realized that there is not a single aspect of physical or mental he alth for which sleep is not important. Those who get enough sleep feel happier. They have higher immunity. They are happier in marriage. They keep youth longer and do not compensate for the lack of strength by overeating, which means they do not get better. They have more time, move faster in the profession. Now I try to sleep at least 8 hours a day, if there is very little time, I can reduce sleep to 7 hours, but I do this no more than 2 times a week.

Yoga entered my life 8 years ago, after the birth of a child. During pregnancy, I gained 16 extra pounds and was looking for a way that would allow me to lose weight. There was a yoga studio in the courtyard of our house, and I came to a trial class. I was immediately shocked by the teacher - she was almost 50 years old, and she looked like my age. Smooth skin, slim body, incredible flexibility! I so wanted to learn everything that she can do, and I began to study every day. When my husband could sit with the child, I went to the studio. When this was not possible, I spread out the rug and worked out with the baby. When it came time to come out of maternity leave, I decided not to look for an office job, but to become a yoga teacher. Now I teach more than 20 classes a week - people who want to normalize weight, cope with back pain, get rid of stress come to me, I have a children's group and a group for pregnant women.

I think yoga is one of the best ways to relieve stress in our difficult times. Many people now spend most of their time at the computer, move little, and get nervous a lot. Because of this, a lot of clamps appear in the body, and all this becomes the cause of failures in the body. Migraines, back pain, digestive problems, sleep disturbances are just some of the problems for which yoga may well be the solution. Now in Russia there are many schools and directions, among which almost every person can find what he likes. And most importantly, you don't have to spend a lot of money on it. A competent teacher may well develop a program of practices for you that you can do at home, at a convenient time for you.

And don't think that if you're not flexible or haven't been to the gym for 20 years, you won't succeed. The main advantage of yoga is that there is no need to show results - everyone can move at their own pace. Yoga teaches you to listen to your body, be attentive to its needs and calm the mind. In my opinion, these are the skills that most modern people lack.

Two years ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and after that I realized that I should use all possible methods of prevention. Every morning I start with a glass of freshly squeezed juice. Usually I try to use seasonal products that have the most vitamins: in spring it is berries and herbs, in summer - apples, peaches and cherries; in autumn - carrots, beets, celery, and in winter - citrus fruits. I never buy canned goods, baked goods, desserts with trans fats. My mother and children and I grow vegetables and berries in the garden, we ourselves bake bread from grain flour, we go to the farmers' market for meat and fish. Most of us do not think that the simplest products may contain added sugar, s alt, preservatives or flavor enhancers. I think the only way out is to carefully read each label, cook it yourself more often, and not use the services of restaurants and cafes. It is also worth taking blood tests once a year to check the level of vitamins and minerals - this is not difficult. Comparing myself with my friends, I realized how much it changes if you start to watch what you eat. For example, I don't know what puffiness or morning bags under the eyes are. I don't have digestive issues or skin rashes and my kids have never had allergies.
