Judy Paterson shared with the public her experience of raising a transgender - her eight-year-old daughter, who has considered herself a boy since early childhood.
45-year-old Judy Paterson is a mother of many children. She is raising five kids, one of whom turned out to be transgender. Baby Penelope made her parents happy with her birth in 2007. The couple were immensely happy about the birth of another daughter, but over time they began to notice strange behavior behind the girl.
Judy remembers that even when Penelope was very small and could not talk, she behaved not quite normally. The baby threw tantrums when sharing a bath with her sisters. But the explanation for this for parents was the fact that many children do not like water procedures. She also started to cry when she was given new girly toys or things. And when Penelope grew up and began to talk, the puzzled mother asked her why she was always so unhappy and dissatisfied with everything. The response of the little daughter stunned Paterson - the child said that he was very worried about the fact that everyone considers her a girl, but she is also a boy.
At that moment, Judy was confused, and there was a long pause in the air, but as a result, she told Penelope that she accepted her for who she was. And if she feels like a boy, then her family will treat her like a boy. From that day on, the parents explained to all the other children this delicate situation and began to support Penelope in every possible way. Paterson told the press that many do not perceive such children's statements as a serious problem and take this phenomenon lightly. She recommended that all parents faced with such a situation share their experiences and not be shy in public.
