1. Facelift lasts 5-10 years - MYTH

They say that the effect of a facelift lasts only 5-10 years, which means that you will have to do the operation again. This is not entirely true: any surgical intervention leaves a mark on your body forever, but the problem is that after a facelift, the face still continues to age naturally and it seems that the effect is fading away. Do not worry: even after a decade, you will still look younger than those people who did not decide on plastic surgery. If necessary, the facelift can be repeated.

It is wrong to associate the name "plastic surgery" with something plastic and artificial. The word "plastic" comes from the ancient Greek "plastikos", which translates as "shape". This is the main task of surgeons - to create new forms, beauty and youth.

2. Brow lift is better than blepharoplasty - TRUE

One of the most abused procedures in plastic surgery is blepharoplasty. Due to gravity, genetics or aging, the skin of the eyelids gradually sags - this is normal. But perhaps you don’t need plastic surgery of the eye area yet, if only the lowered upper eyelid and low eyebrows are bothering you. Start with a small intervention - an endoscopic brow lift. This procedure lifts the eyelids and opens the eyes - you look younger.

3. Fillers and Botox are substitutes for a facelift - MYTH

4. Big silicone breasts look unnatural - MYTH

Many women fear that large breast implants will look less natural than smaller ones. But it all depends on your figure: the doctor must individually select the size of the implants, having studied the volume of your chest. Even large artificial breasts can look natural if the female body is designed for this size.

The first breast augmentation operation was performed in 1893 in Germany: the patient was a 41-year-old singer, dissatisfied with the size of her bust. Instead of then non-existent silicone implants, growths (lipomas) on the woman's back and her own adipose tissue were used.

5. Breast implants don't need to be replaced - TRUE

If you increase your breasts, then every 10 years you need to change silicone implants - this statement was true a few decades ago, but modern implants have become an order of magnitude better: less than 10% of them can leak or be damaged during wear. No wonder surgeons have a rule: if the implant is not damaged, then you do not need to change it. But other factors (natural sagging of the breast under the force of gravity, change in shape after childbirth, etc.) may serve as an indication for correction and additional surgery at the request of the patient.
