Alice Through the Looking Glass on ice
On December 17, the Luzhniki Sports Palace will host the premiere of the most fabulous performance on ice for the whole family, Alice Through the Looking Glass. The production was created based on the cult novel of the unpredictable, adored by both children and adults by British writer Lewis Carroll.
Familiar and loved by everyone since childhood, the plot of a fairy tale that celebrated its 145th anniversary this year, in a modern interpretation and in combination with the latest technologies, will pleasantly surprise the audience and prove that even long-known stories can unfold in a new way and evoke the most bright emotions. The guests of the show, together with Alice, will go on an amazing adventure - to the world of the Looking Glass, where the most extraordinary miracles take place. Large-scale dynamic video projections, incredible special effects, amazing costumes, magical music, mesmerizing circus performances and the most complex elements of figure skating performed by winners of international competitions and world figure skating championships will allow viewers to plunge into the picture and find themselves in Wonderland together with the artists. The script and libretto were written by Tatyana Bogatyreva, known for her work on the musicals 1001 Nights on Ice and Alice in Wonderland on Ice. Choreographer - Stanislav Voytyuk, famous director of world ice shows, including "Imperial Ice Stars", "Russian Ice Stars", choreographer of programs for Irina Slutskaya. The musical arrangement of the performance was created by the St. Petersburg composer Alexei Galinsky, the author of the music for the ice shows "Princess Anastasia", "Alice in Wonderland", "The Nutcracker and the Lord of Darkness", "Dracula. Eternal Love Story" and soundtracks for the films "Shadow Boxing 3" and "Dark World". Alexey also created the work "Olympia", written specifically for the figure skating demonstrations at the Olympic Games in Sochi 2014. The main roles will be played by: Ekaterina Bocharova - a student of the famous coach Alexander Zhulin, winner of the Panin Cup, international Olympic Сup competitions (the figure skater also took part in ice shows of Pyotr Chernyshev and Ilya Averbukh), bronze medalist of the Russian Championship in 2012, Russian champion among juniors in 2009 and silver medalist of the World Championship among juniors in 2009 Anastasia Martyusheva, as well as medalist of the Grand Prix series among juniors Konstantin Gavrin.
Science Christmas Tree WOW! HOW? IN THE PRESIDIUM OF THE RAS
From December 24 to December 30, the Great Hall of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) will host the "Scientific Christmas Tree "Wow! How?" - the first New Year's show in Russia for schoolchildren and their parents, where holiday miracles are the result of cutting-edge experiments and experiments. The show will combine technological effects and an exciting story about the phenomena and laws of nature.
The performance features a large-scale 3D laser show that will immerse viewers in a sci-fi world with the help of projections and three-dimensional scenery. The props include huge resonant transformers - Tesla coils, hundreds of liters of liquid nitrogen, giant barrels of reagents - the performance stage will turn into a real laboratory. The special effects were developed by the NAOS team (leading experts in video mapping and 3D projection, who previously collaborated with the Circle of Light festival) and Tesla FX, the country's largest company producing exclusive exhibits based on Tesla effects.
The director of the show is the famous production designer Andrey Rozin, also famous for his acting work in Andrey Zvyagintsev's films "Leviathan" and "Elena". Among the sports consultants are Olympic champions in rhythmic gymnastics Yevgenia Kanaeva and Margarita Mamun, as well as their coach, Honored Master of Sports, five-time world champion Amina Zaripova. Experiments on stage will be conducted by specialists from Moscow State University.
After the performance, exciting activities and master classes will take place in the hall of the Russian Academy of Sciences, including "Martian Station", "Steampunk", "City of the Future", the scientific program "Great Space Journey from Professor Nicolas" and many others.
Stoker's Dracula at Luzhniki
On December 17, the Luzhniki Sports Palace will host the premiere of the mystical ice show Dracula. An Eternal Love Story, based on the immortal novel by cult Irish novelist Bram Stoker.
The script and libretto were written by Tatyana Bogatyreva, known for her work on the ice musicals Princess Anastasia and Alice in Wonderland on Ice. The main roles in "Dracula" are performed by figure skaters - soloists of world ice shows. The image of Mina is embodied by the bronze medalist of the Russian Championship in 2012, the champion of Russia among juniors in 2009 and the silver medalist of the World Championship among juniors in 2009 Anastasia Martyusheva, in the role of Dracula - the winner of the Grand Prix series among juniors Konstantin Gavrin.
During the performance, the audience will see the most complex elements of figure skating, circus performances, flights "under the dome" of Luzhniki, large-scale video installations, as well as stylized scenery and bright costumes, personifying the era and images of the heroes of that time. In the upcoming 2017, Bram Stoker's novel Dracula will be exactly 120 years old, and the writer himself will be 170.
The main Santa Claus of the country will arrange a "New Year's BOOM!" in Moscow
C December 24 to January 5 in the Great Hall of the House of Cinema of the Union of Cinematographers screenings will take place new children's holiday show "Santa Claus Circus: New Year's BOOM!". Guests of the bright costume party will enjoy dizzying dance and circus performances, mysterious tricks, performances of trained animals, and humorous entreprises.
The main Russian Santa Claus will lead the general fun, who will come to the holiday from Veliky Ustyug. Also, the little guests of the masquerade show will be met by the fabulous idols of the BOOM! The project was developed jointly with the House of Santa Claus and CJSC First Channel World Wide Network.
The show will be held in the format of interactive communication with children, the main themes of which will be friendship, kindness, mutual assistance and family values. Surprises will await guests of the masquerade literally at every step - in the foyer of the Cinema House, young spectators will be met by snowman animators of the Slava Polunin theater center. Children will be able to take part in competitions, dances, round dances, workshops on making masquerade costumes, look into the Book of Good Deeds of the Russian Father Frost, and make a wish at the magical New Year trees. Little participants of the masquerade are invited to the holiday in carnival costumes, the best of which will be awarded with special prizes.
Vampire Ball
The premiere of the legendary musical Roman Polanski took place on October 29 at the MDM Theater. To the great delight of the fans, the main stars of the St. Petersburg production will take the stage in Moscow - Ivan Ozhogin and Rostislav Kolpakov (Count von Krolock), Elena Gazaeva (Sarah), Natalia Dievskaya (Magda), Alexander Sukhanov (Chagall), Manana Gogitizde (Rebecca), Kirill Gordeev (Herbert), Sergei Sorokin (Professor Abronsius). Vampire's Ball is a beautiful gothic story, full of dark charm and boldly ironic about popular vampire horror films. The performance is based on the famous film by Roman Polanski "The Fearless Vampire Killers" of 1967 - one of the best black comedies in the history of cinema. The production has received numerous awards and nominations around the world, most recently for Molière, France's highest theatrical prize. In Russia, the performance was first presented in 2011 in St. Petersburg and received six Golden Mask awards. The total audience of the musical for 20 years of hire around the world amounted to about 8 million people.
BROADWAY MUSICAL CINDERELLA
The Broadway musical Cinderella, created especially for the Russian audience by the same Dutch company Stage Entertainment, is the leader in the family segment of the theatre. The performance began on October 1 at the Rossiya Theater on Pushkinskaya Square. The American classics musical Cinderella by Richard Rogers and Oscar Hammerstein, based on the fairy tale of the same name by Charles Perrault, made an amazing journey: from a television musical film (1957) to a colorful and witty Broadway performance. Produced in 2013 in New York City, the musical Cinderella won the love of audiences of all ages and won the Tony Award. A star international team is already working on the musical in Moscow: the winner of the highest Laurence Olivier theater award, Englishman Lindsay Posner as a director, production designer David Gallo from the USA and a team from Russia (which indicates a high level of trust in the Russian division of Stage Entertainment and is a continuation of the company's successful collaboration with The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization, which began back in 2011 with the production of the musical The Sound of Music).
