The renowned Irkutsk-born virtuoso pianist showed a TV presenter how to handle a broom.

Denis Matsuev
The hero of the program was virtuoso musician Denis Matsuev, who is in the TOP-50 of the world ranking of the best pianists of our time. Boris signed the video: “Siberian Denis Matsuev. Everything you wanted to know about the Baikal banya.”
In the published video, Denis, who was born and raised in Irkutsk, talks about Siberian traditions. The pianist picks up brooms, explaining how to take a steam bath in the bath. The TV presenter lies down on the sofa in the studio, after which Matsuev, apologizing that he might stain Boris's suit, "takes care" of him with two brooms according to all the rules of bathing art.
TV presenter's subscribers emotionally reacted to a funny video: "They are such Siberians - great entertainers", "A talented person is talented in everything, and even with a great sense of humor, a sign of genius!", "I am delighted with this video, very funny”, “How cool”, “Where are the steam?”, “What is the breadth of the soul and talent of Matsuev.”
Some netizens were skeptical about the video: “Boris, why are you doing some kind of show, lay down on the sofa… I don’t like it”, “I’m probably the only one who is indifferent to the bath, well, the soul doesn’t comfortable.”
The video was commented by the Siberians, who confirmed that Denis correctly conveyed bathing traditions: “Yes, yes, we cannot do without a bath either. He does everything right, so we soar”, “from Irkutsk, all childhood in the bath. In Moscow, of course, there is not enough such relaxation”, “Oh Denis, oh handsome man! Well, nevertheless, he correctly says something about the Baikal bathhouse! This is what we have, just like that!” (authors' spelling and punctuation preserved).
People's Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev was born into a musical family. From an early age he studied the piano and graduated from a music school. When Denis was 15 years old, the family moved from Irkutsk to Moscow. After graduating from the Moscow State Conservatory, Matsuev became a soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic. At the age of 23, the musician won the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition and soon became one of the best pianists in the world.
42-year-old Denis Matsuev is married to ballerina Ekaterina Shipulina. In October 2016, the couple had a daughter, Anna.
The pianist willingly talks about his hobbies, which include traveling around Lake Baikal, walking through the forest and visiting a real Russian banya: “When I come to Irkutsk, childhood friends come to my concerts, we take a steam bath together.” During the Stars on Baikal music festival, Matsuev leads famous guests to the steam room, and then they dive into Lake Baikal, where the water temperature is only 8 degrees. According to the pianist, none of the participants in such a holiday has ever fallen ill.
