Animal shelter staff have seen a lot - but they have never experienced anything like this.
Employees of a shelter in Gardnerville, Nevada, US found a pet carrier at the door. Inside was an incomprehensible-looking creature, covered with dreadlocks of matted wool. Neither the muzzle nor the paws of the animal were visible. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a cat. Shelter staff say they have never seen cats in such a state of disrepair.
The situation was deplorable: the animal turned out to be a hostage of its own fur, moved with difficulty and moved its head. Due to the lack of physical activity (probably prolonged), the cat became very stout.
The cat - named Bob Marley - was immediately sent to a veterinary clinic, where he was sedated and shaved. More than 2 kg of matted wool had to be removed from the animal - it barely fit in the bin.
As soon as Bob Marley was freed from the heavy burden, he immediately came to life and cheered up. The cat has already found a foster family, where he is treated with love and care, which he has been deprived of for many years.
Meanwhile, the local authorities began to look for the previous owner of the cat. Recording from video cameras at the entrance to the shelter showed that the animal was brought by a tall, slender man in a cap. Whether he is the person who brought the cat to such a state, or whether he is just a "good Samaritan" who decided to help the unfortunate animal, the investigation will find out, and Bob Marley, who survived so much suffering, is enjoying a well-deserved rest.
